Weekly Prayer Guide:

GPS: Grow, Pray, Study

Week of October 19th - 23rd

"Wholehearted Allegiance"

1. What is God inviting me to recognize in today’s Scripture?
2. How is God inviting me to respond in my own life?

Monday, October 19th

Remembering God's Faithfulness

(Grow) Read Psalm103:1-5
(Study). Joshua begins by recounting what God has done. In Psalm 103, we
see the same spiritual practice: Remember God’s forgiveness, healing,
compassion, and steadfast love.
Faithfulness begins by remembering that we are responding to grace already received.
(Pray) God, thank you for being faithful to me these 3 ways (write them down)

What Has First Place in My Life

(Grow) Read 2 Matthew 6:19-21
(Study) Jesus teaches that our hearts follow what we treasure. Our priorities
reveal what we value the most. This doesn’t mean that possessions, work, or
relationships are in and of themselves wrong. It means that good things can
become disordered when they receive the trust and devotion that belongs to
God alone.
Joshua calls Israel to examine their loyalties. Jesus invites us to examine our treasures.
(Pray) God, as I look at my calendar, spending, and things that get my
attention, are my priorities in line? Help me put you first and then sort things
out.

Worship Shapes the Heart

(Grow) Read Romans 12:1-2
(Study) Worship is more than church attendance. Paul describes worship as offering our whole lives to God. Worship shapes how we think, our habits, and our responses to the world. What we repeatedly give ourselves to gradually form who we become. Serving God requires more than occasional religious activity. It involves allowing God to renew our minds and reshape our daily lives.
(Pray) God, help me see ordinary activity, work, parenting, cooking, as an
intentional act of worship.

Resisting the Lure of Power

(Grow) Read Philippians 2:5-11
(Study) Jesus refuses Satan’s offer of worldly power through compromised
worship. Philippians 2 reminds us of the pattern of Jesus’ life: humility,
service, obedience, and self-giving love. The world often defines greatness
through control, influence, recognition, and dominance. Jesus reveals another way. Faithfulness may require us to release the desire to win, control, or be admired so we can serve with humility.
(Pray) God, help me find an opportunity this week to serve without seeking recognition or control.

Friday, October 23rd

A Life of Wholehearted Commitment

(Grow) Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9
(Study) Israel’s covenant commitment is not meant to remain confined to a worship gathering. Love for God is to be woven into ordinary life—in
conversation, family routines, work, and daily habits. Wholehearted faithfulness is practiced through repeated choices that teach us and those around us that we serve.
(Pray) God, what are some everyday moments or practices that I could more intentionally use to reflect devotion to you?
